Fixora

Help and tips

How Fixora works, and how to get the best out of it.

Check the simple things first

Many "breakages" are just something unplugged or out of batteries.

Puffed or leaking batteries

Never squeeze or puncture them. Use a battery drop-off point.

Old parts and devices

Recycle old electronics and batteries at an e-waste point, not the bin.

Taking a good repair photo

  • Use good light and avoid glare.
  • Get close, but show the whole damaged area.
  • Keep the camera steady and add a short description.

Repair safely

  • Unplug it and let it cool before opening.
  • Never open batteries, power supplies, or microwaves.
  • For smoke, burning, gas, or mains wiring, call an expert.

How it works

Step 1

Snap a photo

For a physical fix, show Fixora what's broken. For a software fix, describe what your device is doing.

Step 2

Get the diagnosis

Fixora works out what's wrong, how fixable it is, and what you need.

Step 3

Follow the steps

Start with the quick fix, then move to the proper repair when you're ready.

Every repair counts

Fixing things keeps them out of the bin and saves resources.
